VideoMining Plans In-Store Services

US-based VideoMining Corporation has partnered with GMT India, a retail solutions firm, to introduce video-based in-store management services in India. It has identified fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), grocery-based retail formats and digital signages as a growth opportunities in India. VideoMining's software provides platform that converts video collected in-store into statistical data on shopper's behaviour and demographics. The company is implementing the similar technology in the US and Europe. The technology will be a maiden experience in Indian retail, which measures consumer behaviour through conventional means. Rajeev Sharma, CEO said, "Consumers are showing lesser brand loyalty at the mass level."
