Retailers Use Store-Traffic Reports to Help Measure Performance

In today’s competitive retail environment, successful retailers are increasingly choosing new metrics tools to supplement traditional ways of measuring store performance to gain the intelligence necessary to maximize profitability.

There are a number of ways retailers are leveraging this data to improve operations. When analyzed in combination with POS data, the ratio of browsers to buyers can be calculated, and when analyzed against staffing data, retailers can determine how effectively they are staffing stores for a given time, day or season. Improved store metrics can also be used to determine how effective advertising or promotional events are by measuring the increase in floor traffic they create.
